* About the “Declaration on Action by a Group of Male Leaders Who Will Create a Society in Which
Women Shine”
Following the meeting of the Council for Supporting Women to Shine held at the Prime Minister’s
official residence in
March, 2014, the “Declaration on Action by a Group of Male Leaders Who Will Create a Society in
Which Women Shine” was
formulated in June 2014 by male leaders of companies that are actively working to promote
women's participation and
advancement.
The Declaration on Action is intended to declare that male leaders at the top of organizations
or corporations will be
“taking actions and sending messages ourselves,” “disrupting the status quo,” and “developing
networking” to motivate
various women so that they can make the most of their abilities.
The aim of the Declaration is that male leaders who support the Declaration will make concrete
efforts in line with the
Declaration and thereby expand the circle of efforts to include socially influential male
leaders.
