MITSUI-SOKO GROUP Revises Materiality
MITSUI-SOKO HOLDINGS Co., Ltd.
The MITSUI-SOKO Group has undertaken a reassessment and refinement of its Materiality.
The MITSUI-SOKO Group is dedicated to fostering a sustainable society through its logistics operations, guided by its PURPOSE: Empower society, encourage progress.
Since the identification of our Materiality in 2020, the logistics industry has stood at a pivotal juncture marked by rising uncertainties globally, including exacerbated natural calamities and the challenges associated with the 2024 problem*. This revision of Materiality is prompted by the acknowledgment that to persist in upholding social infrastructure and serving as a bridge between customers and the constantly evolving world, even amidst this business landscape, adopting a long-term outlook is imperative. The updated Materiality now encompasses crucial challenges that we must address by 2035 to achieve the ideal future we have envisioned for 2050.
The Group's Materiality is composed of eight key issues, with six dedicated to the "Maintenance and Reinforcement of the Foundation for Value Creation," and the remaining two focusing upon realizing the "Creation of Corporate and Social Values" through these foundational six issues.
By advancing Materiality initiatives, the Group will strive towards the dual objectives of sustaining both the company and society, enhancing corporate value, fostering the growth of our customers' businesses, and promoting the sustainable development of society.

*The 2024 problem is a general term for problems that will affect industries such as logistics, transportation, construction, and medical care due to laws related to work style reform in Japan, which will become effective in April 2024.
